# Pre-assignment

@ Research the history, culture, traditions, and current affairs of the country where your school is located at (from here on referred as a host-country).

@ You are required to cover the following topics: music, sport, food, politics, geography, art, innovations (inventions), design, peculiarities, fun facts, longest word in host-country language, literature, icons, local jokes, famous people.

@ Come up with characters, blurbs for the squares to move up & down or for staying longer on one square. Create a “rule/story book(let)”

@ Through the blurb we should learn something about your host-country. Keep it short. Please see the examples below.

@ Three to five squares are required to open with a QR code.

@ The board is required to have 100 squares (to celebrate the 100th Anniversary of the Republic of Estonia).

@ Think also about the overall design and colour scheme. However bear in mind that the materials for creating the game board will be given to you only at the festival.

@ Playing the game with 6 players should take maximum 20 min.

@ Prepare blueprints if you wish.

# Examples

1) You are on the square no 35. Blurb: Estonian scientists developed the first Estonian satellite and first satellite in the world to attempt to use an electric solar wind sail, EstCube1 which was launched on 7 May 2013 aboard Vega VV02 carrier rocket and

successfully deployed into orbit. Move up to square no 64.

 

2) You are on a square no 13. Blurb: Bogs and mires are important in Estonian folklore, and they are seen as places of mystery and peace. They cover fifth of the mainland area in Estonia. When walking in a bog one should stick to a trail. Unfortunately, you fell off the trail and are now stuck in the peat moss. You will sit the next round out.

 

3) You are on the square 98. Blurb: The Era of Stagnation was the period in the history of Estonia from 1964 to 1985. Estonia was then part of Soviet Union. Stagnation means a lack of activity, growth, or development. Go back to square no 64.
